Contemporary Turkish Women Painters Exhibition in Nicosia

The “Contemporary Turkish Women Painters Exhibition”, organized in cooperation with the Turkish State and Communities Friendship Brotherhood and Cooperation Foundation (TÜDEV), Yunus Emre Institute, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and Akdeniz Karpaz University, was presented to the art lovers at the Yunus Emre Institute in Nicosia.

The opening of the exhibition, TRNC Prime Minister Ersin Tatar, Public Works and Transport Minister Tolga Atakan, Turkey's Ambassador to Nicosia, Ali Murat Başçeri and TÜDEV President and AK Party Ankara deputy Yıldırım Tugrul Turkes, Akdeniz Karpaz University Deputy Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Nesip Öğün and painters and invitees who contributed to the exhibition attended.

Tatar and his accompanying people later visited the exhibition accompanied by artists and chatted on the paintings.

After the opening, painting artist and history researcher Nuray Bilgili made a presentation on “Turkish Mythology and Goddess Umay Ana” in the conference hall in the exhibition area.

6 women artists from Turkey participated in the exhibition, which works with watercolor, more contemporary Turkish art and include modern interpretations of Turkish motifs.

The exhibition will be open to visitors on February 21-28.
