Mevlânâ Celâleddîn-i Rûmî was commemorated in the 746th year of the reunion with the activities of the Yunus Emre Institute in Nicosia in many parts of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Between 11-17 December 2019, with the participation of the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Culture and Tourism General Directorate of Fine Arts, artist and with the support of the Republic of Turkey Embassy of Nicosia Development and Economic Cooperation Office and examples of Sufi music and sema ceremonies took place.

Mevlana week activities started with the opening program on 11 December 2019 Wednesday in Mevlevihane, Nicosia. The activities continued on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Middle East Technical University Northern Cyprus Campus. On Friday, December 13, 2019, a program was organized for the students studying at the high schools of the Ministry of National Education and Culture at the Atatürk Cultural Center in Nicosia. In the evening of the same day, the artists took the stage at Famagusta Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Palace.

Following the sufi music performance held at the Conference Hall of the Yunus Emre Institute in Nicosia on Saturday, December 14, 2019, the commemoration activities were held on Tuesday evening, December 17, 2019. The closing program was held in Nicosia Mevlevihane with the attendance of the Turkish Ambassador to Nicosia Ali Murat Başçeri and the intense public interest.
